Teachers

Suzanne Sanders: Principal

BA (Hons) Dance Theatre and RAD RTS.

Suzanne started dancing at 3 years old in Plymouth. She then trained in London at Laban and the Royal Academy of Dance, gaining much teaching and performance experience in both the UK and abroad. She returned to the South West and established SJS Dance Academy in 1993.

Charlotte Watts:
BA (Hons) Dance Education and LRAD RAD RTS.
Charlotte started dancing at the age of 2 and has been dancing with SJS Dance Academy since 2005. She moved to London to complete her dance and teacher training at the Royal Academy of Dance.
During her training she gained much teaching, choreographing and performance experience, before graduating in 2019 with a BA(Hons) in Ballet Education and Licentiate of the RAD.
Since graduating she taught in Bermuda, before returning to the South West to teach for SJS. Charlotte also works as a freelance dance teacher for local schools.

Morag Parker:
BA (Hons) Music Theatre
Morag started dancing at 3 years old and has been dancing with SJS Dance Academy since 1997. She studied Music Theatre at the University of Central Lancashire and since graduating in 2010 has worked in performance, choreographing, directing and teaching. As well as working with SJS Dance and SJS Arts, Morag also works as a freelance practitioner for Theatre Royal Plymouth, Above Bounds Theatre and other arts organisations.

Laura Fluin: Student Teacher
BA (Hons) Dance Performance and currently studying to become an RAD teacher.
Laura has danced with SJS Dance Academy since 2005. She studied at the University of Chichester and gained her BA (Hons) in Dance Performance in 2020. As part of her studies she gained experience in a range of teaching settings.
She is currently studying part-time for a Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance, mentored by Suzanne at SJS.
